All of holding Audiovisuel Extérieur de la France’s (AEF) websites recorded a traffic increase in December 2011, with over 15,000,000 visits.
The breakdown shows 7.7 million unique visitors and a total of approximately 58 million pages viewed. AEF comprises French international channels and radio stations France 24, TV5, RFI and Monte-Carlo Doulaya (Arabic).
France 24 and RFI’s websites recorded 6% and 4.5% traffic increase respectively, compared with the previous month. All the RFI and France 24 language versions registered growth, with a high increase for the Arabic versions of France 24 and Monte-Carlo Doualiya (+ 8%). Those results were driven by an eventful December, with elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and diplomatic tension between France and Turkey.
Nearly 75% of AEF websites' traffic came from outside France, and especially from the United States, Canada, the UK and Russia.
